This plan set is for a new natural swimming pool with a typical two-zone natural pool layout. The central swim zone is bordered by regeneration zone regeneration zones on two sides, leaving the remaining two sides open for decking, paving, and easy access into the pool.
A submerged retaining wall separates the swim zone from the planted regeneration zone areas. This wall allows the regeneration zone to be filled with gravel and aquatic planting while keeping the swimming area clear and open.
The swim zone measures 12 m x 3 m, which provides a practical swimming length while keeping the overall pool footprint compact. Suitable for lap swimming and recreational swimming. Diving is not recommended unless the pool depth, profile, and entry area are specifically designed and approved for diving under local safety standards.
There is a single step or martini bar on the one end of the pool but this can be adapted as per the user's needs if you require more steps or easier access.

How the Natural Filtration System Works
A successful natural pool is more than a swimming area with plants beside it. It is a carefully designed biological water-treatment system.
1. Surface Debris Is Collected
Leaves, dust and floating organic material are drawn into the skimmer before they can sink and break down in the pool.
2. Water Is Continuously Circulated
The circulation system moves water between the swimming zone, wetland filtration area and return inlets.
3. Water Passes Through the Planted Gravel Wetland
Water is distributed through the wetland at a controlled rate. The gravel provides an extensive surface area for beneficial microorganisms to colonise.
4. Nutrients Are Consumed and Captured
Plants and microorganisms use the nutrients that would otherwise support excessive algae growth. Suspended organic material is also retained within the filtration zone.
5. Filtered Water Returns to the Pool
The treated water returns to the swimming area, creating a continuous cycle of biological filtration and circulation.
